Alternative Impact designed this so that after an impact the rod end can usually be unscrewed, replaced with a spare and the ride continued, rather than replacing a bent arm. The manufacturer states this is not guaranteed but has worked in roughly three out of four cases. Both tubes of each arm are arched, which is what Alternative Impact calls a \"true\" ground clearance arm: other designs arch only the front tube and leave the rear tube straight.
